Second Grade:
Printmaking:The second graders were required to draw their self portrait. After they printed their original drawing they added one thing to their print and reprinted. Their final print was a crazy print where they added many more things and filled in the extra space. This lesson was designed to teach students about printmaking while having them create a series of three transformative prints.

Saint Nicholas Academy Deli:Students used a variety of materials to create, collage and name their own sandwiches.

Pinch Pot Fish:Second graders were taught ceramic project where they made a pinch pot clown fish. We went over the rules for using clay and watched an episode where Mr. Rogers tries ceramics. Ohio Standards Producing and Performing 3 PR-create artworks based on imagination and observation of familiar objects and scenes.

Third Grade:
City Project:
This project was a student lead collaborative project. The third graders voted on names for their city, the winner was Dixenville. Students then made a list of buildings they would like to include in their city. The chosen cities were divided up by interest and some students partnered up to work on a building together.

Monsters:Students learned about self portraits and for this project they drew themselves and were allowed to add a few "monster qualities." First they did their sketches using pencil afterwards they outlined using black crayon. Next they learned about watercolor resist and we talked about how to use watercolors.

Watercolor Weavings:Students created their water coloring weavings using warm and cool colors. They painted two separate paintings and once they were dry they will cut one sheet up into strips and slits in the other sheet. Finally they wove them together to make a piece that shows the warm and cool colors
